Well my 19 month old has learned to say NO! That's all I hear day in and day out. Her answer to everything is no. When she is angry it's NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!..It's driving me insane. Yesterday, while I was cooking in the kitchen, I asked her to go in the living room with her daddy and she yelled "NO!" I could swear it was followed by "GO AWAY!"....GRRRR...my lil Miss attitude!! ...Any suggestions? It has been a while since I have dealt with this. I have thought of time outs, of course, but the struggle to get her to be still will be another fight all it's own. I even thought (briefly I might add) of putting her in her crib, but that doesn't seem fair as her bed is not a prison, and shouldn't be associated with time outs at all. The constant NO is going to drive me batty, and I am already half looped as it is. So I am open to any suggestions!

Don't get into the control battles that aren't worth it. My son was one that would keep saying what he wasn't going to do as he was doing it(I think he's finally grown out of it and he's now 18), and I figured this out pretty early, so I let him have his say as he did what I told him!
This is the first step in asserting her independence.
Karl, I tried walking out ..and well she follows me yelling NOOOOOOOOOO!!..almost as if she is mad I even turned my back..lol.
I have had two kids and now have one grandson. They all do great things - can frustrate you to no end - and they mostly turn out just fine. Keep being mom and let the kid learn to talk. :o)
