He is throwing gasoline on the fire.
What can be more provocative to the Muslim world then for us to attack and occupy Iraq. He is giving them the best propaganda for their terrorists that he possibly can. And they are using it, gladly.
We say we are giving them democracy, but Muslims say we are humiliating them as a culture and religion. That's what they say.
We have lost the war because we never knew what we were fighting in the first place. Wars are lost for far less.
We have certainly lost "hearts and minds" of the Muslim world, radicalizing folks all over the Middle East who otherwise would be moderate Muslims. They now want to fight us in Iraq like they once rallied to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan.
Before we occupied a Muslim country like Iraq, America's image was bad enough in the Middle East. Now the terrorists have more footage of American soldiers with their boots on clomping through their mosques than they can use.

I know dang well that right wing Muslims want to stone gay people to death. Making more of them extremists-from-moderates won't help that one at all. We are forcing MORE Muslim extremism with our actions.
Just because there were LOTS of terrorists before 9/11 doesn't mean we make lots and lots more (occupying Iraq certainly does that) and then they go away.
If we go away then they only have themselves to content with (and they will anyway).
9-11 was as Pearl Harbor it was allowed. So they could start there gobal war they want so badly. Wake up this is just the start if they have their way. There is more going on under the sheets then we can see and I do not mean a blow job.
They kill our children and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians because it's profitable.
Oh, by the way, I've sat and talked with some Imans, the knew I was a lesbian. They had no problem with it because I am not a Muslim.
We are making things worse. We can't bomb our way out of this one, either.
Maybe going to war was a mistake. But leaving wont correct that mistake. The only reason why most of Iraq has not gone to hell is because of the US presence there. Were it not for us, it would be a lot worse. Maybe we cannot fix Iraq by ourselves, but the Iraqi's cannot do it on their own either.
The war is not won, but it is far from lost. Most of Iraq is stable and relatively normal. Millions of Iraqi's are grateful for what we have done, and they depend on us for safety. That is worth fighting for. I have served three tours in Iraq, and I would gladly serve three more to fight for this cause.
That is very real.
Bush Jr was fully warned of all of this by his dad before he went in like he did. His dad was against the war before it happened. So this isn't just a 20/20 thing.
We made a huge mistake, so now we have to deal with it. Leaving wont correct our mistake, it wont save lives, and it wont make things better. Stay in Iraq, and try to solve the problem.
