Tomorrow I'm helping out at a photoshoot for http://teyaphoto.com
It's where women decide to (in a classy way) trash their wedding gowns. You know, that dress you spent hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on? That dress that sits wrapped in plastic in the back of your closet. That dress that sits boxed (for $100) in your attic with moths fluttering by.
Well there's a movement out there now. Trash your dress...go out there with your mate and take photos of yourself trashing the dress. No, I'm not kidding.
I myself would never do this. But I'm glad to help. I think it's a great idea. I think the above photos are fantastic. They really say a lot about brides that are not 'bridezillas' and brides that really are just fun.
Would you do this?
I guess it's a movement that is out there all over the Web right now...
It should be fun! Rain date is in August...so we'll see if it happens tomorrow. Can't wait!

You will be doing this tomorrow in Framingham? It will be HOT! Do people come and watch?
I really wish I had know about this I would have done it !!!!
The pictures of brides lounging in water and on sand are way more romantic than the cheesy wedding portraits everybody has. I'm going to show this to my wife. Maybe we'll do a From Here to Eternity shot too.
Thank you for letting me know about that charity...what a great cause!
Susan O: Nope, Framingham does not have a beach. If the weather holds I'll be helping the crew down in Rhode Island. I had no idea it was on NPR, I'll see if I can find the interview online.
Bret: Thanks for showing to your wife! :) I'm only keeping my dress because I'm a packrat.
Samantha, I suggest a charity thrift shop where someone can buy it that is really in need of help. Or someone will buy it and the $ goes to charity.
My mother created heart shaped pillows for the wedding rings at her granddaughter's weddings. With the lovely gift she inserted a photo of her wedding day. My parents made quite a handsome couple.
The pillows have already been used at numerous weddings.
I'm still looking for another idea to convert my dress into.
OTOH, the beautiful weddng mantilla I bought in Spain cost a lot more! It was the reason why I needed An individually designed gown, one that would not detract from the mantilla.
Dorine, I understand...good for you for keeping it. :)
Trish, the pillows are a great idea. Thanks for sharing!
