I Posted A 'Funny'

Dear Friends,

This morning I posted a funny: http://www.gather.com/viewImage.jsp?fileId=3096224744290616 I recieved it in my email from an old friend in SC. A friend who is well aware of my Christian tendencies and most of my writings. She knew I would not be offended. She also knew I would laugh. Which of course I did.

This evening a fellow Gatherite placed a comment saying that because of my Christianity and my Christian writings, the funny could be construed in a bad way. I left my honest response and I am now inclined to ask you to take a look for yourselves.

You may judge me by my Christianity, for I know I will fall short. But please do not judge Christianity by me, as I am unworthy. While here, I prefer just being human. Thanks & God Bless!

I saw the cartoon before, it is funny.
And the image you have here should offend no one. Especially a Christian.
And you know, the first miracle was the party-on miracle, water into wine so the wedding feast could continue.

Let the dead bury the dead, the living are to go with the living. You think Jesus never laughed???

Your cartoon was very funny. I don't understand why someone would take offense to it or chastise you.

I also like your laughing Jesus. Of course Jesus laughed many times during his short life.

I love the laughing Jesus image. I like to think that even at the last supper, with full knowledge of the betrayal and denial (not to mention the torture and death) that awaited him that Jesus laughed and enjoyed Himself with his closest friends. His composure in the face of certain death suggests that He might have.
