It took three engines to pull that train
car after car after car.
It bounced past our window all night.
I lay awake and wondered
does the engineer have a wife to get home to?
Will he make it home alright?
I counted the cars to the very end
and now its finally gone.
It took three engines to pull that train
car by car past our window til dawn.
Now I sleep and dream of endless trains,
Clackety thud, clackety thud, all day long.

you reminded me of the nights I spent in Strattford Texas.Tghe truck stop parking lot is at a crossing where a North South and an East West rail lines cross. The tracks form two sides of the parking area. Sleeping there requires an ability to not quite hear the trains going by.
