I like gather because I get to "meet" lots of different people, and I can get honest opinions on things, that I beileve I wouldn't so much with the people I really 'know'

I love gather because I have found some wonderful friends here. I enjoy chatting with them. I find there there are alot of people that I can really connect with as we have many things in common.

I feel the same as Connie. I make a new connection every day and sometimes they develop into close friendships. The comments I receive on my postings at times can be minimal, but I appreciate the efforts of all who do comment.

I think it is a great idea also. Sarina is one of the friends that I have made.

I love being nosey and finding out about other peoples interests!

I think I am still trying to figure that out Sara. At first I thought it would be a great intellectual stimulant with interesting writers and photographers bringing fresh perspectives on the world without the trappings of bookstore prices. Then I dug deeper and found that the content was also inclusive of diverse opinions and dialogues on much of every day life. Added to that were the international voices that brought about a greater understanding of how we are all co-travelers on this one spaceship called Earth. But I was less than enthused by the "cheap" pursuit of points and the fattening of the band width and storage requirements on Gather serevers caused by postings of thousands of images which contained no meaningful content and the non-stop comments on such. No public place is without its offensive material, and Gather is no different. There are those who spread a message of hate and images of the degradation of women. I wonder why others will launch into long tirades against the circumstances they encounter but not choose to make things better. There were also soul bearing, heart wrenching stories of survival while dealing with very troubling circumstances which brough a tear to my eye and made me whisper a prayer of hope for the weary. So in the end, Gather is really a mirror of life. I don't always like what I see in the mirror. But it is my choice to continue to look into it or not. Thanks for sparking the dialogue.

As a brand new member of gather, so far, i Like the interesting directions that you can go exploring all the options on gather, for instance, reading all the articles/comments of your connections and, viewing the different images that are here to share. I have read a lot of interesting stuff already and it seems as though the possibilities are endless.

I like gather because I can write anything that I feel like. Light and fluffy pieces on random musings, read funny jokes, meet great people and rread some amazing articles that I would not be able to find elsewhere. Cheers to Gather & its people!

I love gather because of the people. A website is only as good as the people on it

It gives me a chance to write, and express the things I have inside. To share thoughts and Ideas with others, and to exchange those things, when I would normally just be shut away doing nothing, or just miserable.

I like Gather because of the people I've been able to meet, and because it's given me a trusted outlet for my writing....except when one of my relatives finds me, but that's a different story.

As for the points, I like the gift cards I've been able to get, allowing me to do something nice for Walker and Cory.

I love so much about Gather. I'm fairly new here, but I love that it's a place where I can post family recipes, my writing, my pictures.... and people actually take time to look at them and comment. I really love it. And hey, the gift cards that save me money on books don't hurt, either! :)
Besides, meeting new people is fun, and I love this site...
