B-Dawg has hit the wall. His brother C-Dawg called us from Boston this morning to say that B. can't talk and has been sick for a week now. He spent most of last weekend on Cousin Jazz's couch. Thought he was getting better (or so he said) but now it appears his sore throat is getting worse. He has had strep in the past. We dispatched them to an Urgent Care Clinic. We are waiting to hear from them. They are staying at their Italian exchange sister's dorm in Boston (though I am thinking it may be Natick, near Boston). We are checking to see if we can find better, fairly inexpensive accommodations for them. Maybe the Youth Hostel or YMCA.
If you are so inclined, could you say a prayer for them? Think positive thoughts in their direction? Any other suggestions for them would be welcomed, as well.
Thank you all!!

Prayers...
B-Dawg got re-hydrated with an IV, had some blood tests which determined he didn't have strep or meningitis, and got some antibiotics. After all the travel and poor sleep, he got depleted. They are on their way home to the dorm now, and are stopping on their way for groceries. Fortunately they have cooking facilities in the dorm, so they can eat real food and B-Dawg can for sure have gluten-free food. Getting even trace amounts of wheat, rye, and barley (of which gluten is the offending protein) can affect the immune system if you have celiac disease.
Thank you all very much for your concern, prayers and thoughts!
If you go to the garynull, com website, you should find useful info about Celiac disease.
I am fairly knowledgeable. B-Dawg was diagnosed in 2002, his little brother in 2003, and I basically diagnosed myself. We have a support group in town and the boys have been to GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group) Kids'Camp. I do read about the topic often.
