Got a question for you out there in Gatherland.
Would you call me a photoholic? I have taken just in the last couple of days over 2,000 photos. Of what you ask...well, nearly a thousand of the Cannas growing out side my home. Ummm, no they aren't blooming yet. But they do have a couple of buds which look like they are about to bloom tomorrow or the next day. Uh, yes, I took photos of just the buds and leaves, but the leaves had water droplets on them. And there was this tiny spider on it's web, yes, I took photos of it on it's web.
I also took photos of this magnolia tree which is about a quarter of a mile from my place. Over six hundred of it and no there were no blooms yet. But one was about to start blooming, does that count? And on the way back took some photos of this evergreen tree which has these look like berries, no I don't know what they are called. Well, it was pretty interesting to me. So I took photos of the berry thingies which were growing between the ummmm, are they leaves or fronds? What ever they were interesting so I photographed them.
Then last week my friends took me with them to Amicalola Falls. Yes, I took my camera. Yes, I took nearly a thousand photos that day. And yes, the Sunday before at my grandson's fourth birthday party I took nearly six hundred photos of the party then over five hundred more at my son's home of his plants and of my grandkids playing in the pool. Yes, I've taken over 23,000 photos in less than four years. But you see I have this great Canon 10D which being digital I can take more photos with and it only costs when I print them out.
Uh, no can't print any out right now my small format printer has worn out from printing so many and can't afford to buy a new replacement yet. And my 24" format printer is out of one color of ink and haven't been able to buy the ink for it, hey takes six cartridges and six printer heads, that adds up to hundreds of dollars to refill it. No, I haven't sold any of my photos. I just love sharing them with others. Right now am downloading the last of the ones I took yesterday of the Cannas leaves and buds and water drops on the leaves.
Ok be honest am I a PHOTOHOLIC? Should I enter Photoholic Rehab? Or just go on taking and sharing photos?
You tell me...if up to me I will take them until the day I die wooohooo!!!

I love watching the parade of color and beauty pass on my newly uploaded pictures area on my gather home page.
I love that it reminds me to pause, stop rushing, enjoy the beauty for a moment. I don't rate or comment as often as I pause to admire one, I'm trying to work on that a little, as thank you for the beauty I do so appreciate.
And I have learned! from your writing about it, and I value that so much. You caused me to stop and reflect on the beauty and promise of the bud, and the tales a wilting flower tells.
Please don't stop.

Julia, I'm still downloading the photos and haven't gotten to look at them yet...will be probably a day or so before I post any of them...still haven't posted the ones from Amicalola Falls other than the mushrooms from that trip. And I must say have several I really like from on top of the falls looking out over the valley from over 700 feet up.
J F. I do save them, download to my one of my hard drives then save to DVD or CD. Right now I have 37 DVDs and over 100 CDs full of either my art or my photos.
It's always fun to see other's view of the world. You take gorgeous pictures and are kind enough to share them. I very enjoy them. Don't sign yourself into rehab anytime soon.

I must confess I am downloading another gig of photos of the Cannas, what were two buds yesterday now are blooming and can't wait to see what kind of captures I got this time...been a year since I was able to photograph them blooming...can't say in my garden since they just kind of grow next to my place and I didn't plant them but glad they are there.
May try to take some more of the Magnolia trees when I go to check my mail later this afternoon...got to rest up got a little too hot earlier taking the Cannas...dang it I used to be able to do so much more than I can these days...frustrating...whew I have bout four or five gigs of photos to go through to find the best to post on here so be patient will post my best soon... :o)
