I got a new stove today. This one is nicer than the last one and is shiny. You can see your reflection in the oven door. Well, my youngest dog Charlotte, seems to think that it doesn't belong in the house. She must see her reflection and she doesn't know what to think. She has been barking at it ever since we brought it in the house. At first it was funny but now that barking is starting to get on my nerves. I tried petting her and telling her that the big bad oven wasn't going to hurt us. I even tried to get her to see my reflection but all she did was bark more. I may have to block her from going out into the kitchen so she doesn't scare our "intruder" away.

One of my exes had a dog that barked at the drop of a hat. I tape recorded her barking and would sometimes play it back to her so she barked at what she thought was another dog.
I do agree that hanging a towel or finding something else that you can
use to block her reflection will help. But sometimes it just takes
awhile for an animal to get used to something so big and new.
