I would say Gather.com but apparently you know about it. :-). If you like movies, Flixster.com is a good one. There are movie reviews and quizzes which are created by members.

I cannot name a specific site, exept wikipedia may be, but I like to surf the net for writers' sites as I like writing, that is how I came accross gather. Also I like to surf the e-bay sites to do shopping with my eyes.

cafemom.com- they have groups from every walk of life and all over the country. It's a great site to connect and get and give advice. I also really like Mylot.com. It is a discussion site forppl from all over the world. Very interesting place to be. Lot's of questions and answers
