What Made You Decide to Come to Gather?

One of my friends invited me, and I came to enjoy sharing articles and making new connections. Then I learned that you could also earn gift cards and man was I hooked! LOL!

My reasons were the same as yours. Been working well for me. Lots of good advice and suggestions on my writing.

I too came because I'm a writing hoping to make connections and learn about promotion and other opportunities. I've made some really good connections and have also learned to enjoy working for the point rewards.

My husband who is a writer directed me to the site. I have been here ever since because I have met so many nice people. I like to take pictures, and I blog - I have gotten great comments and some gift cards to boot!

I have no recollection of just what brought me here ... maybe fate ? Anyway, I had a midlife crisis many years ago that led to a 'spiritual awakening' that very few know anything about, let alone that it could happen to any of us at any time ... especially when we get tired enough of the status quo to actually give up on it in search of a transcendence.

Just before coming here a bit over a year ago, I wrote a book [Spirit Calls ... a voice from the wilderness.] about it all and the wisdom I gained from it all. (I have even provided a free download available through that site).

So I came to Gather as a part of a spiritual 'mission' to hopefully spread the 'word' and hopefully get some people that are ready for it, to read my book, even buy it if they see fit ... but mainly to consider the truth that it offers which could literally change our very world. I offer what I call the B.E.T. (Basic Equation of Truth) and believe that IT is what our entire universe operates on as a fundamental truth ... it even meets the criteria for the "Theory of Everything" that our advanced scientists are seeking.

I got an e-mail about this site from Borders and thought it could be fun.

Don't quite know how I got here...insomniac's internet surfing? Decided to give it a try after doing a little "window shopping". The peer rating as well as being able to comment is what attracted me. I'm hoping to learn and grow as a "writer" (I use that term loosely). The writers here are quite a mix. Something for everyone, I'd say

I am a writer so I was just looking for a place to write and share, i'm not exactly sure how a stumbled upon Gather but it looked fun so I gave it a try! I like it :)

I think I was invited to gather, due to my dabbling on poetry.com. Your information is free game on the internet. I was attracted to this site because I thought it was a more viable opportunity for publication that I would get paid for; rather than one I would have to pay for to be published in a book or a reward convention. So far, no luck. However, I think our mutual contact, Geeta M, has a real shot of getting published. She sent me "Chapter One", and I think she is well on her way! I'd like to write a short story, or book someday; but right now I'm dabbling with poetry. Hope all is well with you.

What I can say is I have been here on and off for almost a year. Geeta is a talented indivdual, as are sooo many people on here. I thank my Creator everyday for the people I have met on here.

Janet, you can write that short story. I began writing poetry, and I moved to short stories, and then I wrote one novel. YOU CAN DO THIS. Watching these writers and other artists on here, should give you courage and hope.

Too many interesting, intelligent, talented people on here for you not to find what you need, and be on your way!!! I know I will support you! It is scarey, but we were all scared. It's working past the fear, and realizing that you have something that has to be said, and someone...just someone...may have needed that bit of information or lesson or even entertainment.

My main reason was to make more friends, write a little, and any rewards are just iciing on the cake. I was a member of another site where I got paid $17.59 via PayPal recently. I'd never heard of gather until I joined a critique group through an MSN group I'm a member of. I'm glad I found this place. It's great!
I'm a writer too, and I'm interested in joining up and learning from other writers.

did an internet search for winzer, this iste came up on like page 3 cause someone had wrote an article about it and well i stayed for the points.... and now im meeting some nice ppl

Sharon I really don't remember how I got here, however once I looked over the site and read some of the material and seen some of the images from people of all walks of life and I loved it.

I use this site to connect to the outside world so to speak. I have been places I would never get to go and met people with hearts of gold.

I also fellowship here and if has fed me and taught me in so many different ways.

I have met authors of great quality and some just starting out with great ideas.

I had almost given up on people, you know? I live in Phoenix, and find it difficult to make and keep friends...it is so transient. And, everyone is working for just enough to get by. And then, it seems you become trapped here. (Well, I am setting a goal to end that, but that is another story).

I had to come out of denial about the fact that I was a "closet writer," almost all of my life. (God, I think I started writing at the age of 8). When this happened, I began losing some contact with friends along the way. So, again, thank God for Gather, and wonderful people like you!

Keep posting. Who else is out there? Why did you come? I believe we were sent here for a reason...part of a journey.

I was invited to Gather by one of my ministry friends, and I stayed because I like the camaraderie here.

I also wanted to get a message to you, because Gather is not working right so I can send messages. The way I got to be a social person is to depend on my Lord and Savior to help me do that.

I'm glad that you have God in your life. He is my Rock.
