Here is my weak attempt at a poem. Gentle constructive criticism is welcome. I haven't written a poem since probably Junior High.
I am inspired by the Dandelion Queen. How can I not be when she spreads her charm for me to see outside my window?
---------------------
Ode to the Dandelion Queen
I was indignant as I did see
One neighbor disrespecting thee
What is he doing to those seeds of yours?
Why he is killing them of course!
Well I will do my best to contend
With the forces that defend
Their right to undo all
The work from spring through fall
That your subjects labor through
In order to serve and please you
I decide now as I make this rhyme
In the good old summer time
I will adore the little white puffs
That the children love to huff
If only for one reason
For this is the Queen of Dandelion’s season

Next step will be you using dandelions as a seasoning
in all of your soups and stews.
I was just out weeding and see Elsie has made a return trip to my yard. She is certainly a busy lady. She didn't even stop in to say hi!
that Elsie did drop by, but in the stealth cloak she wore
you could not see her unless she rested and snored
Although 24/7 she'd like to be planting these seeds
She does get worn out by eating chocolate ants no doubt.
Dandelion stew. Yuck!
