I left the house fairly early - about 8:30 a.m. First I went to my favorite breakfast place - what they call a "New York" omelet is spinach, broccoli and other veggies - there's a glass of fresh squeezed OJ, coffee, toast and home fries. With tax and tip, about $7.50. It includes all food groups and keeps me going for a LONG time.
First stop after breakfast: post office. I mailed out 4 books!
Then on to Staples - don't know why I took the bus as it's only a mile away! I need to get more mailers (for the books of course). I did NOT need more pens - but there were some really cool ones - all sorts of gel pens and mechanical pencils - in the clearance section - and folders were a penny each.
Then I checked out the $1 book section in the used bookstore next door. Got a book by a favorite author, Ursula Hegi.
Next stop was the bank - I received my jury duty check yesterday - two days=$80! Not bad!
I took the bus uptown and went straight to the dollar store - some things are about $1.19 or so - inflation. I got lots of salad dressing; well, I'm eating a lot of salad. They have the Fuze iced tea in bottles for $1.19 - I don't like the fruit juice, but do like the tea. A friend likes the sweet/salty bars - I bought her three boxes as they're usually almost $3 in a regular store.
Back on the street, I started my walk home. I was carrying a huge bag filled with things from Staples (and the bottles of tea - they were heavy), two shopping bags filled with other items. I still had to get the PAINT!
I didn't even shop around - I stopped at the local hardware store, bought a gallon of peach paint - for WHENEVER the super gets around to finishing the bathroom.
Whew! I think I'll sit the rest of the day OUT!
