The town is called Volant, Pennslyvannia. If you are looking for quaint, this is it. Look no further. The center of town are little houses mostly turned into shops and restaurants. Lots of original Amish hand made goods. But I couldn't find a place that was "Amish." I stopped at a corner gas station where the man pumped the gas. He recommended that I go next door where I could pump it myself for less, but I enjoyed the luxury. He told me that the Amish were not as plentiful as years gone by, but he did know of one place, called Teena's quilts. He gave me directions and away I went. I was not disappointed. Check out the photos.
I found the people to be friendly albeit a little hypocritical. The Amish man told me he did not believe in using mechanical items so he could not take credit cards. His barn had no lights, phone, or other modern day goodies. I was truly impressed. He went on to tell me that he could do a much bigger business if he had a computer, but he would not. I truly admired this. I was a little disappointed when his wife pulled up next to their cart with an adorable little two year old boy. The little boy wore the Amish garb, too.
Here's the hypocritical part: She drove a fairly new pick-up truck! Oh well.
Enjoy the photos!

I know an Amish man from PA that buys a new truck every two years but hires someone to drive it. He also has a cell phone and has his driver do the talking for him. Go figure!
