Another Try
By Bill Cottringer
Not the first time you know,
Getting married once again,
Worried about the past
And how the future will go.
What’s the difference you ask?
How to pass the test?
Right choice, right person
Right time, right everything.
What starts good,
Usually goes better;
Nice to look at,
Fun to be around,
Great attraction,
Good character,
Safe place to fall;
No judgments,
No competition,
No fussing or fighting;
Just excitement and peace,
Love, faith and hope,
Laughing and crying.
Some insecurity,
Lessened by talking
And self-control.
Togetherness feels right,
And acceptance is easy;
Spiritually connected;
But the real secret—
Building more good feelings,
Than allowing bad ones.
That’s the secret,
Of the lasting ring.

Personally I think we want to be "successful" in our work, relationships and avocational interests, which leads to the good feelings we want--happiness, meaning, peace of mind, sense of accomplishment, recognition, satisfying meaning, sense of well-being, contentment and wholeness.
In a way we are all spiritual beings on a human journey to re-unite with the oneness we separated from at birth. The in-between is life as we know it.
Thanks again for the acknowledgment...Bill C.
