A friend of mine just recently became engaged, and they are actively planning their wedding. They will have to pay for everything on their own and have a limited budget. Anyone have any ideas for saving money while still throwing a fab wedding?

I rented my dress for $250 and it was gorgeous. Instead of having a big reception afterwards, we had it in the church for free and I bought trays of food from Walmart with sandwiches, vegetables, cheeses, and sodas. We bought a reasonable cake from a local bakery. I fixed up the church myself with my friends and only spent $200, we bought all the things from a local party store. We had a friend of the family take the photography which he did for free and the pictures are awesome. We borrowed a friends town car to leave in after the wedding. We didn't go on a honeymoon, just to a super nice hotel in a local big town close to us.
