'Emirates Flight No 612 is now ready for departure to Dubai' came the long awaited announcement at Islamabad International Airport lounge. As I picked up my bag I saw a very familiar and well known person walking gracefully , calmly looking for a comfortable seat;I must meet him.....Assalaam o alaikum'OH yes I remember' how are you and what are you doing? Mr Ahsan Iqbal former Chairman Planning Commission had been helping us in our Educational Development endeavors.
'Well sir, things have changed' but we are hopeful'.
'yes'hope should be present always' where are you going?
A very important question as Dubai is fast becoming a major junction ..er.. hub....errr
My daughter lives in Ajman, an hour and a half's drive from Dubai.
'Oh I see, ' Mr Ehsan smiled , he seemed weak, by travelling I guessed or by politics..it could be both, as travel and politics go together....
well we must meet sometime back home...'yes sir,
well take care and safe journey. enjoy your stay' and then we both went our way, he in the line for male passengers and me a lady, the only place I can be ahead is , 'in the line'...OH no not 'in the line of fire' er....who said that?
I looked around.Very few ladies were close by, more men were to be seen.Who ever believed that women were in majority? I wonder....
Dubai was just beautiful...landing smoothly....we entered the priveleged walkway
and suddenly I found myself walking a little ahead of Mr Ehsan..as I turned to have another look he turned into the 'Transit Door'
OH he is going further somewhere.
Later I saw the news about the London Conference and there he was sitting at the large table with..lets not go into the political scene
Dubai Abu Dhabi is a real modern world..but what a world it was for me...heres a picture I drew of myself...

The Tall structures of life are amazingly attractive , one cannot resist looking high up towards the top.
My daughters Apartment was on the 7th floor and it was like living in the air, peaceful quiet and cool...(with AC of course)
I stayed for three months and I loved the place. What I learned during the first phase of my stay...
Tips for visitors staying in the UAE are
- eat regularly to beat the heat
- go out only in the evenings
- have a daily bath
learn to stand straight and balance yourself for in your first visit every time you get out of the building into the car and then out again you have a dizzy spell......
On my next visit I learnt to ride the escalator-the first time I fell.....ooooppps I stop here forthe moment.....
'Your eyes please' La la ....Madam.

The "world" project of islands being built is a site to behold as are the arms of the palm island with all of their million dollar homes.
I don't think I will be visiting there anytime in the near future unless of course I should get alot of million dollar interior decorating projects there. It just wouldn't be practical there otherwise.
It still seems like a place I would have liked to visit though.
Thanks!
