Frederiksborg Castle in Hilleroed, Denmark is an extravagant renaissance castle, which was built in the beginning of the 16th century by King Christian the fourth of Denmark.

The Bath Castle was originally built in 1580 by Frederik the 2nd, and this was where the King and his men could take showers and eat a nice lunch after hunting.
Today the castle is used for hunting luncheons by the Danish royal family.

These houses were originally used as homes for the gartners at the castle.

The Monogram garden includes the monograms of Frederik 4., Frederik 5., Christian 6., and Margrethe 2.

For more than 60 year a little boat has been sailing in the waters surrounding the castle. It sails from its little dock in front of the Frederiksborg Castle to the center of Hilleroed the city adjacent to the castle.

My grandfather (my mother's father) was christened and confirmed in Frederiksborg Castle Church, which you can see on this photo.

That was fantastic! I especially liked the spire with the blue sky background.
King Christian IV was one of Denmark's most beloved kings, but upset a few Lords in his time, for using a lot of money to beautify his beloved Denmark, which now in historical perspective, has made Copenhagen and many other places in Denmark, like Hillerød, so so beautiful. Christian IV is also known for his thousands of letters of love for God... and for his special recipes to make good Danish beer. He also lost an eye in a battle with Sweden. Next to Queen Margrethe, he's my famous royalty figure. The Danish royal house is the oldest in the world, and also about the most loved in the world.
