I was watching COPS on TV just a moment ago and they were in Indianapolis, on Washington Street picking up prostitutes. I left it on while doing some cleaning and paying some attention to it whenever I wanted a break. On one of these moments I looked up to see a woman say her name was "Theresa".
The voice was familiar but the name wasn't so I sat on my bed and watched the whole thing. She had brown hair brown eyes and about my age. She said she was new around the area and didn't know of a place to complete their transaction to the undercover vice cop name Jeff. When they finally cited her and told her that she was elible for a felony arrest my jaw hit the floor.
They zoomed in to her face as she admitted that she had a crack problem. It was definitely a girl I knew back in high school. She was a junior when I was a freshman and her name wasn't Teresa, I'll not mention her real name here but it was definitely her.
I remember her with long dark hair that she would brush all the time. Everyone said she was "such a good girl", from teachers to parents, and even some of the boys. I didn't know her all that well but she was popular and I envied the fact she was developed far beyond everyone else. She once helped me when I dropped my back pack on the front steps.
It's amazing how things change, my ten year high school reunion was just this year and within that time a girl that was a good girl, beautiful, and kind had turned into a crack whore. Makes me re-evaluate myself every time I get down on myself for not accomplishing all my childhood dreams.
Ever see anyone you knew on TV?

A lot of people that I used to run with in the 70's are either dead or in prison. Couldn't move beyond the drug culture. Sad, very sad.
No I was not the criminal but an actress in the reinactment of a crime in my home town. I am not an actress at all- At the time I was a bartender that happened to be in that particular place when they needed a particular story. The part that aired of the 30 minutes of tape was me stupidly uttering Yeah to the parent aking me questins. YEAH!! After so many years I still can not believe I said that on TV!
Anyway on the subject of your school class mate being on TV as a crack addict, It is a sad reality but I know a great many of my class mates that are addicted to crack, and or have been or are still in jail. Arrests varying from bad checks, petty theft, prostitution. Some who have been arrested for manufatoring meth in thier own private meth labs. Most of them the very popular football stars, the girls who everyone wanted to date. Almost all of the so called nobodies grew up to be somebody and have happy marriages and families with little if any crime in there back ground. It is sad. The girl that I claimed as my best friend for several decades is a crack addict. We no longer speak because I can not relate. But she was a tall beautiful girl with blonde hair that went down to the bottem of her tail. She lost a marriage with a gorgeous officer, lost her car, her home, and I can only assume she lost moments of pride!
my husband's cousin was on the news when some guys snatched her purse at a wal-mart and she lit into them and HER husband has been on the news a few times as he is a policeman & was interviewed by reporters
I love that story about being on TV at the cubs game! That is classic. I am glad your boss was a bigger fan. All is well that ends well right. I'll bet he did not ground you.
The seats were a few rows up from first base, before the wide aisles for handicap seating so I couldn't pass it up. And Kristy my boss when I told her of how I got the tickets after the fact gave me a "verbal" warning but never written up it. I know for a fact if I had told her she and I would have skipped together!
that's too funny. A friend of mine, his sister was on Playboy, not a cover girl but in it nonetheless. But we knew about it ahead of time and he kept telling all his guy friend "NOT" to buy it, but you know how that goes. Everyone got a copy and said, "Yo man did you check out Skippy's little sister?"
that is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. I love Monk and have even thought about what it would be like to live in San Fran. But I do understand in thinking about knowing someone that you kinda sorta recognize.
