Lindsay Lohan, fresh out of a six-week stint in a posh L.A. rehab clinic, turned herself in today on charges stemming from a May 26 DUI and hit & run. (She had jumped a curb and hit some shrubs on Sunset Blvd. Police had located her at a local hospital.) Lohan has a court date set for August 24th.
My question is why was she allowed almost two months after her citation to actual "turn herself in"? Wouldn't most people be escorted directly to the police station to be fingerprinted and photographed? Is this just another case of celebrities getting special treatment?

I think this gives a lousy message to teens who eat up every word about these spoiled celebs. Treat them like everyone else. Do the crime, do the time.
We spend way too much attention on these folks and should be concentrating on helping the problems in the world. I really don't care if Brad and Angelina or Tom and Katie had a spat. The magazines are a waste of paper. AND...they pay them way too much. $?Over $20,000,000 for a picture? Outrageous! And we are the ones signing their paycheck.
