This weekend I read Sylvia Nobel's Devil's Cradle and just loved it.
I enjoyed Devil's Cradle, just as much as I enjoyed her first novel, Deadly Sanctuary. This book was both intriguing and suspenseful!
I actually stayed up all until unheard of hours of the morning for two days in a row getting to the bottom of this mystery. I just couldn't put it down! I went into work Monday sleepwalking like a zombie!
The main character, Kendell O' Dell, is smart, quick-witted and very daring.
The book keeps you turning page after page. Each new page adds new questions. If you think you have something figured out, you find out soon after you were not even close. The ending was not at all what I expected.
Just try to figure this story out before you get to the end, and you will see what I mean.
Her novel is anything but predictable. In addition to providing an excellent story line, Devil's Cradle gives an excellent description of Arizona and its many wonders. I love the fact that I have visited places in Arizona that she writes about in her stories. Her writing inspires me to visit those places I have not yet ventured, her descriptions are that accurate.
By the time you finish the book you'll feel as though you've traveled with Kendell through the Arizona desert, mountains and plains. If you like a good mystery with a tiny touch of romance, you'll truly enjoy Devil's Cradle. (not sappy at all)
Kendell O' Dell is quickly becoming my favorite heroine. I definitely recommend this book. I can't wait to read Sylvia Nobel's next novel, although I will have to start it on a weekend!
After reading her first two books, I immediately went on line and ordered the next in the series.
