First of all, I can't let Ina be the only one with a glasses fetish. Here is the beginning of my collection. Of course, the zebra glasses are my favorites.

I have a lot of books and a lot of book paraphernalia. Here's a gift from a friend.
It says, "Choose an author as you would a friend."
Daisy ran her Daddy a merry chase this morning. She bolted off the porch with Daddy close at her heels, ran around the neighbor's house four times, found a rawhide bone that belongs to the neighbor's dog, and trotted back home full of pride. I laughed but Daddy failed to see the humor.

Our perennial hibiscus is really struttin' its stuff. Each blossom is just about the size of a satellite dish. They have no smell, unfortunately.

I was playing with my macro button here.

This plant was given to me as a small cutting in May and now is filling its planter and then some. In fact, I've started a second plant from a stem. In the sunlight the leaves glisten with sparkles.
I'm reading The Wizard's Daughter by Ruth Rendell writing as Barbara Vine. I'm sorry to say that this is the first book by Rendell that has disappointed me. I've about fifty pages to go, so it might yet redeem itself, but it's not looking hopeful.
For our camping trip this weekend I'm packing along Lost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde, Mother of Pearl by Melinda Haynes, The Stones Cry Out by Sibella Giorello, and A Confederacy of Dunces by Toole, and A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, which I'm rereading a chapter or two at a time. Oh, and I'll probably throw in Shrouded by Carol Anne Davis in case I go into British book withdrawal.
That's all the news that's fit to print from Hannibal. I hope everyone has a great weekend planned. I am marinating boneless chicken thighs in teriyaki sauce for the grill and I'm going to serve them with lightly breaded zucchini sticks and a salad. Bon apetit!

My hibiscus won't bloom until August, so I'm a bit jealous, there. I'll be sure to post pics when they do. Yours are gorgeous. My yard is just AWASH with color right now. I have to get the pictures up ASAP.
We're bringing my parents in for the weekend, God and weather permitting. Kevin is taking my dad fishing on the pier. He can't see to rig his own lines anymore, so Kevin will help him. I'm not quite sure what to do with Mom while they have at that diversion. After she adores my gardens, there's not much to do until lunch.
Have a great weekend, my friend.
And I wish my wandering jew was as nice. It used to be.
