55 Things About Me.... And 20 Quirks: Tagged

I was tagged by Tiffany D. a couple of weeks ago about 55 things. Also, about a month ago, she tagged me for 20 quirks. So I am going to combine the two and have a bit of fun. No, none of these are false, they are all true and all about ME!

The numbers in parenthesis are the quirks:

1. I am officially "29 and holding" as I have just turned 30 and am in denial after my birthday yesterday!

(2). I feed my children breakfast every day, but usually do not eat for myself.

3. My hair was straight and long as I grew up, but after 6 pregnancies, it has curled up of its own accord and is frizzy if I don't keep it layered.

(4). I bite my lips and the inside of my cheeks constantly (yes, I know, it's a very bad habit!) I try to make myself stop, but it is near impossible. I end up causing myself a fever blister/cold sore on my lips from biting them until they bleed (should I see a psychiatrist?)

5. I have 4 beautiful children here on earth and two in heaven.

6. I have been pregnant every year, at least a part of each year, for the past 7 years. Married in 2000, I got pregnant in 2001, 02, 03 (twice), 04 (was pg for 6 months), 05, and 06 (just had that baby in 07!) Make sense? Does to me!!

(7). I don't have to shave for the last 3 months of pregnancy as my hair grows finer and lighter, so my legs stay smooth!

8. I crack my knuckles (I know, another bad habit!)... all three on each finger and thumb.

(9). I hate putting on make-up and so I usually only wear it on Sundays when I go to church. The same people who see me with make-up on Sundays see me without on Wednesday nights or anytime I run into them around town!

10. My dad would not allow me to pierce my ears while growing up (I asked him every year for my birthday and Christmas for the last 10 years I was living with them). I got them pierced on the first birthday I was married, at age 23!

(11). I hate shopping just to browse. If I am going to the store, I want a purpose and I want to find what I am looking for quickly. Whether I am with or without my kids.

12. I have started taking piano lessons twice but have never been able to keep taking them, either because I had to move, or my instructor had to move.

13. I love to sing, but I will only hum in the shower. When I am in the car by myself, I can turn up the volume and get into it.

14. If I pass you on the road and see you singing in your car, I will laugh at you! (Admit it, it's funny to see other people singing in their vehicles. Ever thought about what you look like to them?)

(15). When I wear make-up, I don't wash it off at nights before going to sleep. I wait to wash it off the next morning when I shower.

16. I am not embarrassed easily. I don't like being the center of attention, but I do like a little attention, such as for my birthday.

17. I hate standing up in front of a crowd to talk, but I can sing and it doesn't bother me, although I do still get nervous.

18. I have a hard time thinking of 20 quirks, not to mention 55 things about myself.

19. I look like my mom (nearly identical), yet I look like my dad and in ways I look like his mom.

(20). Drinking tap water makes my chin quiver. Add ice and I am fine drinking it.

21. I love kitty cats!

(22). Being woman, I love chocolate, but drinking chocolate milk straight from the container is too rich, I have to add white milk to it, 2/3 white and 1/3 chocolate. 

23. Before I got my driver's permit at age 17, I didn't want to learn to drive. My daddy made me take the lessons and get my permit. Once I got my permit, I still didn't want to drive.

24. When I got my license, I wanted to drive every time.

(25). I cannot stand to wear flip-flops (I do wear them occasionally, but I would much rather go barefoot). 

26. I am the second child of four children. I have three brothers.

27. I was named after someone in the Bible, but the spelling is different.

28. I was raised in church. My earliest memories are at age 5 going to a church every Sunday morning, night and most Wednesday nights.

29. I was saved at the age of 7 on a Sunday morning just after Sunday School.

30. I was baptized that same night.

31. I love to take pictures, but most of the time, I forget to take my camera with me when I know there is something worth taking pictures of.

(32). My favorite kind of sandwich is peanut butter and banana with mayo and a slice of cheese. Runner up is a mater sandwich with extra mayo and lots of salt and pepper!

33. My thumb is totally black, I kill any plant I venture to keep alive.

34. I went to public school up until the 6th grade. We moved and my mom homeschooled us for the remainder of that year and the next.

35. I went to a Christian school in my 8th grade and hated it. I found that most of the students were snobs at school and tried to act "goody-two-shoes" at church. Mom homeschooled us after that one year.

36. I graduated from homeschooling along with 2 others through an "umbrella" Christian school. We had a program where I had to give a speech and sing a song.

37. I lost my voice two days before graduation and sucked on lemons trying to get it back enough for my speech and singing. It was gravely, but I survived the ceremony.

38. My birthday is 11 days shy of sharing the same day with my dad and his mom's birthdays.

39. I was engaged to be married before I met my husband (now). Fiance called it all off with a phone call. Not enough backbone to talk to me in person.

40. I have a necklace, given to me by my husband on our first date, that I wear every day and never take off.

41. I still have a necklace given to me by my first fiance that I wear occasionally.

(42). I have to sleep with the covers all the way up to my chin regardless of the temperature.

(43). A fan blowing directly in my face (even a ceiling fan) causes my nose to stop up by morning and my throat to be sore.

44. I tolerate watching college football with my hubby and the Virginia Tech Hokies are my favorite team.

45. I don't mind washing things, but I hate putting away. Dishes will stay in the drainer until it's emptied with meals and clothes can stay in the laundry basket until they are all worn, if it were left to me to do.

(46). I do more work around the house when hubby is at home than I do while he is away. Somehow his presence motivates me.

(47). When I do put things away, they have specific places, I don't like cluttered drawers and cabinets. Even my refrigerator stays organized.

48. I had a lisp when I was in kindergarten and took speech therapy in the first grade to correct it. It actually worked!

49. I buy things at a bargain as much as possible. I use coupons and buy things on sale, stocking up as I can.

(50). I am a procrastinator. I typically run late, although I was on time for my wedding and I always pay my bills on time because I don't like to pay late fees.

51. I have never had to wear glasses, although everyone else in my family (parents and brothers) have had to at one time or another.

(52).  I take after my mom when candid pictures are being taken of me. I like to cross my eyes and stick out my tongue!

(53). I am not intimate. I hate "mushy-gushy" and usually end up getting silly when hubby wants to be romantic.

(54). I can't stand for my feet to be touched. I like for my toenails to be painted, but I don't want to paint them, nor do I want anyone else to paint them.

(55). I get up at 5:30 AM every morning with my hubby then go back to sleep when he goes to work, I like to sleep until about 9 AM if the other kids will let me.

(56). I also pop/crack any place on my body that can be done. For instance, my right elbow will pop if I jerk my arm straight out, but my left elbow doesn't.

The last one was added only because I went through my list and realized I only had 19 quirks and it was easier to add it than to figure out which one to change to a quirk.
