Miss Nerva's Fried Green Tomatoes

Yield: 1 batch
6 ea Green tomatoes
Salt & pepper to taste
Cornmeal as required
Bacon grease or vegetable oil as needed
Slice tomatoes into 1/4" thick
Salt & pepper them to taste.
Dip in meal then fry in hot grease or oil for2-3 mins. until golden on bottom.
Turn gently then fry on other side.
Serve as a side dish with fried fish, ham steaks, etc.
