Unemployed and returning to school

Hello fellow Gather friends!  At 49 (almost 50!) I find myself unemployed for the first time.  As a child all I ever wanted to be was a teacher. I remember coming home from school every day, setting up my blackboard on the deck and playing school.  How I dreamed of being a teacher. As I grew older my dream never faded.  However, as my high school graduation grew nearer there were many obsticles.  My older sister had ran away from home taking her college tuition, I had a steady boyfriend (who I was not afraid of leaving but maybe my mother was) and in 1976 there was a glutton of teachers.  I remember at career day my mother suggested I look into secretarial school.  I remember how excited I was to be moving away from an abusive home life and took her up on the opportunity to go to a two year secretarial school.. but the dream of becoming a teacher never faded.. I graduated, found a job as a legal secretary, had a child, got divorced, married again, had another child and even became a Town Judge.  But the dream of becoming a teacher never, ever faded.   I am a firm believer that God has a plan for everyone and everything happens for a reason.  And I believe it is time for me to finally fulfill my dream of becoming an elementary teacher.  This will be a very difficult endeavor for me, both financially and as an educational challenge, but I know I can do it with the support of friends and family.  I would love comments and encouragement!  Thank you!!!
