I've heard many people talking about blogging for money. Apparently, you can get advertisers to advertise on your blog and get an income from this somehow. I've heard a few people talk about this in very vague detail. But, no one seems to want to share the details of how to do it.
Do you blog for money? Do you know how to get started? Are you willing to share the secrets of your success with others??

(Hi Jill)
AdSense is by far the best, most rewarding monetization resource for blogs, news sites and small, content-rich information sites. Google offers AdSense, a service that lets independent publishers, bloggers and news site owners to publish text-based, context-relevant ads next to the content on their sites. This is done automatically without you, the publisher, having to worry about anything else except putting small-sized code inside each of your Web pages
The Amazon Associates program lets independent online publishers with the opportunity to promote any product in Amazon's inventory as affiliate agents. All it takes is adding a small, identifying code to the links that take your site's visitors to a specific Amazon product page. If the visitors who clicked on your link buy an item you earn a small commission. (Any item)

The text side links are through google adsense, the amazon pic is the amazon ad.
Another good way is affiliate sales. This approach involves signing up to become an affiliate reseller of specific products.
As long as the affiliate products do not affect the publisher's credibility and provide pointers to useful, high-value products that the publisher fully endorses.
The commissions received for these sales vary depending on the product. LinkShare and Commission Junction are two of the largest affiliate program brokers. Check out their catalogs to get a good idea of what products and commissions are available.
Here is a link to an article with the best information I have found so far.

I have made just over 200 with them but that is in the last 3 years
Best of luck....
My web site is through a host site so don't think it allows the keyword things. I put them in, but they don't pick up.
So need more education there. And guess I need to get a different host (probably one that costs money that I don't have)!!!
That seems to be key for affiliates, you have to have a site and it has to have traffic.
So if you have a blog about caring for Persian cats, cat ads will be populated (and people interested enough in Persian cats to read the blog are much more inclined to click on the Persian cat ads).

Here is what I have learned. The articles I write I post as non-exclusive. You get less pay but I can take my work elsewhere to make more money off of it.
Ok so if you want to blog, do poetry or vent heres the 411. Go to helium.com first.
Post all your work there. Or write some new stuff. It doesnt pay much but every little bit helps.
Then go to adsence and set up an account. There is a lil code thingy the blogs I belong to will want from you.
The first blog site is bloggerparty.com
The 2nd one is writeniche at wn.goldenprose.com...this is the one I get the most hits off of and is by far the biggest moneymaker for me.
The 3rd one is blogcharm.com this one I dont think they want your adsence code. They didnt ask for mine. Just said they would share money with me. Im new to this one.
The 4th one is soulcast.com
It will take you a little while to get all set up. Once you do just save all in faves after you have made your blogs. I made a special blog folder. Then when one of my new articles comes out I go post it on all the sites I just listed.
Good luck I personally have only been doing this for about 2 weeks and have had about 300 hits with all the sites together. I figure I will keep it up and see how it goes. Hey money is money and now its not taking long to post my new work.
Give it a try! Let me know what you think!

You can also have a WidgetBucks ad on your site. They actually pay per click, which seems not to be the case with Adsense, or so it seems. Just google WidgetBucks and use my referral code 6704002 when you sign up. I have an ad called Passion for Shoes because I love shoes.
$10 doesn't sound much but you can run quite a few at once and if you are on your own domain using wordpress you can optimize it to comfortably pull in 1000+ per day very quickly. This is not the case though, if you go for a free platform such as blogger.
I've written a 2 part article explaining exactly how to quickly start making a $10 blog at
