Today's Farmers Market Finds

The Farmer's Market is really starting to get busy now. The assortment of fruits and veggies is huge: sweet corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, leaf lettuce, raspberries, cherries...

These are my picks for the day. 

 I picked up a bar of goatsmilk and tea tree oil facial soap and a bar of pet soap. They smell heavenly!

 This is probably the largest head of cauliflower I have ever seen. It is perfect, no yellowing or insect damage. Now I just to have come up with recipes. This will comprise at least three meals!

How fun...we don't really have a farmer's market, we just have stands in different places in town so it takes a few stops, but oh so worth it!

We went to our local market this weekend as well. Peaches the size of Mark's fist.

Someone was also there with fresh wheat bread, really good stuff.

Our family will just eat cauliflower cut up, but I agree it's good in soup. Also a friend of mine prepares hers like mashed potatoes.

I love the smell of soap made from goats milk and it makes your skin feel so great. We have a farmers market but I just don't seem to get there.

Susan, I couldn't wait to use it. It felt so great! It wasn't overdrying at all. Next doggy bath, we'll be trying the soap on Mia, who has skin allergies.

Probably. You will see one sad doggie, too. Mia doesn't really care for getting a bath. Which is weird because she LOVES water!

Shannon, I make my own soap as a hobby, love doing it as I feel like a mad scientist! LOL Homeade soap is great, especially for allergies because its additive free. Homeade soap has one feature commercial soap doesn't...natural glycerin, a moisturizer. The big companies remove the glycerin from their soaps and sell it to pharmaceutical/beauty companies.

Lynn, I try to use natural and organic as much as I can. I have heard it said that if you can't eat it, you shouldn't be putting it on your skin!

Oh, I love the farmers market. I also love going the amish market. Veggies and fruit, that's the ticket. Lynn, we need tot alk, I would love to learn how to make my own soap. I have super sensitive skin and I have never found anything that doesn't affect me.

I just love goatsmilk soap. It makes my skin feel so soft. Wonderful finds today. Good for you. Our local farmers market has not opened up yet. It is always held on friday
