Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

So the cast and crew of Extreme Make-over home edition is 3 miles from my work.

I have patients streaming in telling stories of the work being done on the house.

It is for a little girl with cancer.

Neighbors talk of the noises all night and the spotlights.

They are building a house in 4 days.

It is completely amazing to me.

I had a patient who drank a pint of beer with Ty pennington.

I have a patient who says there is a building code inspector on site 24 hours at a time.

People are working 20hr days.

ANd everyone has such amazing morale over it.

I have never been a faithful watcher of the show.

But the positive impact they have on the community is truely wonderful.

I love this show! I think what Ty Pennington is doing is a wonderful thing. They helped a family in Arizone where my cousin lives and she got to meet Ty. The lucky girl! Her husband was one who actually got to work on the house with Ty.

They were here in my very small town.

The whole thing was a bit invasive...still it's a good thing that they do what they do.

I do know that they don't always treat the local volunteers very well. One crew simply got up and walked out after being yelled at one too many times.

Anyway, enjoy the chaos.

It is a good cause thing. My daughter and I love the show. I hate to hear a crew walking out for any reason. It is for the people they are giving it to, not the show itself. Still, I guess I can understand. Thanks for the article.

I love the show, but don't watch it often cause it always makes my cry. I look at it and my life seems very good.

It is an excellent cause. I guess they might yell because they are under so much stress to get it done quickly. And theyhave suchawesome homes when theyare done. I often wonder if the people can handle the up keep of the homes and taxes.

I love it too! I know it seems invasive, but for what? a week? Some of the construction projects around here go on for months. Of course the aren't 24/7, but...whatever. cool!!

I love the show too. I don't watch TV that much. It would be great to have a local knock-off show. I need a fiber glass tub fixed in place and supported underneath, and no one wants to do it. How about Laid-Back Makeover?

How cool is that?
My hubby is on the railroad here in Oregon and he was wondering what all the lights were for. The guys that normally run that stretch of rail told him what was going on. Wish we were closer to maybe help volunteer some labor or something. Sounds like an awesome cause and I love that it goes so fast to help people out.
