My guy is Kenyan and he climbs mountains. (Big ones.) He's a long-distance runner and coincidentally he and I graduated from the same college two years apart and never knew each other. He's sweet and funny, and has very good manners. Oh, and I don't think I mentioned this morning that he has 8 sisters and 4 brothers... !!!

Oooh, Mickie, I've never been accused of being a twin before! I was an only child -- I wished all my life for a sibling... *sigh*
I thought about taking a camera phone pic of the two of us last night, but felt weird about it. It was only the second time I'd gone out with him... Guess I could steal one off his MySpace page or something. That seems wrong somehow. Plus isn't it bad luck or something?

Teenagers are sooo much fun, Janet. I have one that is 15. She loves to try my patience. Can't wait til all the angst of the teen years are over. Everything is such a drama. And in Indiana they can get their driver's permit at 15! So I have driver's ed. to look forward to in the fall. Uggh!

I had a friend who made me start running with her back in college. The first time I went, I 'bout died. Then I set my jaw and got mad, and just went out and did it. Every time I could go a little farther, until finally she and I were racing the last half mile or so. Then we'd hit the weight room together and do about 500 crunches together. Golly, I was buff back then. Now look at me! *sigh*

That's quite a ride! Is that all on the road, or do you have a trail somewhere? There's a bike/nature trail along a river not far from my house, and it's 11 miles one way. I'd like to start off in little intervals and eventually make the whole round trip on a regular basis.
I like to swim a lot, too. If I could still run, I could be a triathlete. But I don't see it happening with these knees and having already had one back surgery. I'll have to settle for the hiking and biking, I'm afraid.

I listen to a lot of different types of music, and I find myself flipping through the radio stations a lot. :) Thank goodness on my new car the "seek" button is on the steering wheel or I'd surely have an accident!

There is a bike trail that runs thru the woods along Salt Creek, the trail ends east of me a Brookefield Zoo.

My knees and ankles have a lot of wear and tear on them, so I bike now. Just start off slow and be patient.

That sounds like a nice trail! This one is kind of new, and the trees they've planted aren't very big yet, so it'll be nicer in a few years...
I have a BIG problem with patience. Always have! I just expect a lot out of myself. I'll keep checking in to let you know how I'm doing, though. You can be my coach, Champ!
