The apotheopsis of ice cream is from Bassett's in Philadelphia, est. 1853 an the oldest operating ice cream maker in the US. It is premium ice cream, made with cream, natural ingredients, no chemicals or junk like guar gum!!! Still made as it was 150 years ago! I love sitting at their venerable counter (more than a century old, too!) at the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia.

Never heard of Cold Stone.

Cold Stone Creamery, my local one was the first franchise Cold Stone. It opened about the time we moved into our house here and I remember walking to it several times in my youth and many times when I was in college a few blocks away.

Rainbow cone--a Chicago southside institution! I remember my grandfather taking us kids there on hot summer days, and the line wrapped around down the sidewalk. The wait was well worth it!

Hmmmm I grew up with fresh homemade , the only other Ive had is Dairy Queen, Thatws not ice crream, Will stick with Blue Bell Packaged, its just like homemade.
