Menards, the Wal-mart of HI

Why isn't Menards subject to the scrutiny Wally-Worrldd receives?

Some of the stuff I have purchased from them lately is designed to last two years and they state that on the product. However, the defect rate is very high. The stuff is all china and all cheap.

Even the lumber is aquired in the same agressive purchasing style Wal-mart uses to bully it's suppliers.

So many similarities.

Don't get me wrong, I shop there. Luvem, wink wink...

I used to work for Grand Home Center., Where Kmart in Spirit valley is now.

I love the lumberyard business. Menard's, don't make the ridiculous mistake of mixing Walmart's approach to peddling JUNK with the lumberyard biz.

Yes, Menard's could certainly be better. I don't like their delivery policy. They'll drive the load to your house, but you need to have a crew to unload it. This was a problem when I ordered landscaping blocks. Then the delivery guy had the nerve that the two of us were taking too long to unload his truck!
I prefer Dougherty Hardware. I never get the "you're a dumb girl" look when I ask questions. They just tell me what I need to know. They've nursed me through everything including installing a new garbage disposal unit.
