The Queen of Dandelions stood in my front yard
She was planting her seeds, my dog barked hard
I said you're naughty, she gave me a finger salute
Then moved on to my neighbor, not home but at work
All my neighbors were singing and dancing around
It was quite a commotion that soon made me frown
They sang 'Dandelion wine and I'm feeling fine'
And each yard that I saw was covered with dandelion
Oh me, oh my, gosh darnit and my wife said Ohio
This four letter word was more than I could swallow
Then on my TV a parade for the Dandelion Queen
And the dandelion wine made the crowd giddy with glee
I felt my wife shake me, 'you're having a bad dream'
So I shook off the cobwebs and drank some hot tea
I looked outside relieved my lawn was still green
Just then a white haired lady walked by and gave me a wink

I thank you for this tribute Bill
I appreciate it no end
I will keep my promise to you
And gifts to you I send
Many boxes of my famous seeds
And ants, dipped in chocolate too
I hope you will have enough
To take care of all your needs,
Elsie, Queen of Dandelions,( thanks to you.)
Pale Yellow: she's still in New York
Bright Yellow: she's close to your house.
very good poem William.
Try as much as anyone will
No one, not even the four letter word
Compares to shine you two bring
