In 2008, Pluto, the planet of drastic upheaval and reform will enter the sign of responsibility and repression, Capricorn. My experience with Pluto whenever it changes signs, and especially houses in an individuals horoscope is that the effect can be life changing. When you analyze Pluto's general effect in Sagittarius, we saw a revolution in global communications, global outreach (the "global economy"). We also saw clashes of cultures and general upheaval world wide. What will the Capricorn effect be? My guess will be a return to pragmatism, a dour outlook will return to the world not unlike the feeling in post world war II and the start of the cold war. Capricorn is not like the irresponsible Sagittarius, the check must be paid--no extensions of credit here with this old man of the zodiac! Any thoughts out there?
The above was first posted in July, 2007 and much has obviously occurred since this post was first published. I will say now that we are approaching the point of Pluto's return to Capricorn after being in retrograde motion since February of this year. Pluto's retrograde took us back to Sagittarius but will be leaving that carefree sign for good in November. Look for a return to a somber pragmatic mood in this country. As Pluto approaches Capricorn this fall, the climate will turn decidedly conservative in October. An October surprise? Perhaps, Pluto does nothing halfway, what will occur in October I believe will be very dramatic and devastating. Pluto makes its presence felt by a total purging and cleansing. In Capricorn, pragmatism and pessimism will dominate the landscape, until we become accustomed with this new paradigm. We had a brief preview of Pluto's transition into Capricorn in February, we will be returning to that same repressive atmosphere this fall. Ouch!
Alert: Financial Bailout Deal
This is another addendum to my original post in July of last year. Please note that the financial bailout deal will be agreed upon and executed during a Mercury retrograde, meaning it isn't worth the paper it is written on. Look for the ugly details to become evident during the second week in October when Mercury goes direct. Keep cash on hand, buy nothing on credit. To paraphrase Bette Davis: "we are in for a bumpy ride."
10/9/08 Additional note:
Just one more note on Mercury retrograde. Once Mercury goes direct on October 15, it will be become more evident what steps need to be taken to get the economy back on track. Look for most of the Paulson plan to be scrapped for more direct action in the credit markets. As Pluto enters Capricorn at the end of this year, you will see the markets stabilize and adjust to a new, more disciplined atmosphere.

I would like to add :
I think Euro and British pound will get evern stronger when Pluto moves into Capricorn.
Also Michael Wolfstar of stariq.com thinks that Pluto in Capricorn will coincide with the tendency of more governments to be more repressive.
In the case of Pluto re-entering Capricorn in November, you will see that whatever ease of lifestyle was present with Pluto in Sagittarius, will evaporate. We had a taste of this influence in March, and we will be returning to a more repressive and conservative lifestyle starting in October, when Pluto sets itself towards direct motion back into the sign of Capricorn.
New World Order? As much as some people would prefer to think it's "only" a conspiracy theory..look around we're starting to see some hints of things leading that way.
When Pluto was in Sagittarius, look how many church scandals were exposed!!
Thanks for commenting, not many on Gather seem to be interested in Astrology.
