What is up with all these people who feel the need to email every one of their connections every time they post another article?

I already have these people on my connections list. When I log in and visit my page, these things show up under Articles for Me. If I want to read them, I will.

Emailing me a link to your article, along with some catch-all general message, is the best way to guarantee that I will not read whatever you posted. Make a habit of these emails and it'll guarantee that I never read anything you post ever again.

Seriously, we do all this group stuff so that we don't have to link spam each other every time you feel the need for some attention.

I don't mind if a connection sends out a note that they've posted something very meaningful, but there has been such a huge increase in the number of people doing this that I've stopped checking my emails.
