The Queen of Dandelions stood on my front yard
She was planting her seeds, my dog barked hard
I told her she was naughty, she gave me a finger salute
Then moved on to my neighbor, not home but at work

All my neighbors were singing and dancing around
It was quite a commotion that soon made me frown
They sang 'Dandelion wine and I'm feeling fine'
And every yard that I saw was covered with yellow dandelion

Oh me, oh my, gosh darnit and I heard my wife say Ohio
A four letter word in the morning was more than I could swallow
But then I was watching TV and there was a parade for the Dandelion Queen
And people seemed giddy and with glee, sang songs of a dandelion wine need

I felt someone shake me, my wife said, 'you're having a bad dream'
So I shook off the cobwebs and drank some hot tea
I looked out the window relieved my lawn was still green
Just then a white haired lady walked by and gave me a wink

William, if laughing could kill me, I would be dead, lol, That is so funny oh, gosh, I can't even see to type this, good thing I don't need to. That poem should get an award, why don't you publish it to your site, to good to be hidden here, lol, I love it, Thanks everyone for your comments.

Few read my poems, so why should I bother. I removed myself from 3 poetry groups because hardly anyone in those groups had read any of my poems in the past month. I guess they couldn't stomach my honest critiques.

Love William's poem as well as yours. I agree he should post it on its own! Very funny. You certainly get around Elsie with all those dandelion seeds of yours! Now you are haunting his dreams.

I'm sure you could continue on and on with positive things about yourself...even after being tagged for the umteenth time. I participated once...after I was tagged about a dozen times...and was tagged a few more times after. I 'played' but once...and some of these 'games' just never seem to die and go away. And now, there are several more going around, which I've been tagged for, too. I just haven't chosen to take part...yet.

It is nice to have a little mischief in you. We all know you are sweet, though.
