Changing your life outlook, improving your mood and enjoying life can impact how you feel each and every day. Are you ready to be happy with your life?
Step One: Speak up For Yourself! People are not mind readers. If you don't tell them what you want, you won't get what you want. If this is a problem area for you, start small. Ask for something very minor, the next day something a little more and work your way up until you are comfortable asking and receiving what you want. Hiding your feelings is not smart either. Speak up when you don't agree with someone. You don't have to cause an argument to voice your opinion.
Step Two: Give & Receive Compliments. Learn to make compliments sincere. Focus on something you genuinely admire about someone and tell them. When you give a real compliment, the recipient feels valued and unique. When you accept a compliment gracefully, you acknowledge the giver and a positive part of yourself making you feel better.
Step Three: Be Comfortable being Alone. Learn to apprciate your time alone. This is a time to come to peace with yourself and really know yourself. You can't change your life if you don't even know who you are!
Step Four: Take A Risk. Everyone has fears in life. It's facing those fears that will make you a better person. Try something new, go somewhere new and meet new people. Life has so much to offer, if you never change what you are doing. How do you expect to change your life?
Step Five: Ask For Help. Sometimes we can't do it on our own. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength!
Step Six: Disagree And Not Loose A Relationship. Next time you find yourself in a disagreement, challenge yourself to stop defending your point and listen to what the other is saying. Negotiate, come to an agreement but don't ever lose a friendship or a relationship of any kind over something small. Loosing someone over where to eat or a bad call at a football game is a little stupid in hindsight. It's ok to agree to disagree and move on.
Start applying these steps to your life and you will see a change in yourself. What comes next will come and go because you are taking chances and facing fears while taking care of yourself and speaking up. Good luck!
