Werewolf Movies

Hello fellow Gatherites!  By popular request we are now going to please list your favorite Werewolf movie.  There are quite a few to choose from but I would have to say that my favorites are the old ones with Lon Chaney.  Those old black and whites were great to watch when growing up in the olden days...lol!  Have fun and post to your hearts content.  I am point whoring today.

Shun - great film! I saw the other one too but don't remember the name, oh, was it American Werewolf in Paris? I liked the first one but felt that the second one was more sensual...if Werewolves can be deemed as sensual creatures - who am I to say?

I like at the end when the one werewolf chick gets away to a diner and orders a burger and the cook goes"How do you want it?"
And she smiles with these little fangs and replies
"Rare".

Bill - That has got to be one of the best scenes and lines in this genre of movie.

Although if you're talking old school black and whites I would have to go with the horror/comedy (?) Abbott and Costello meet the werewolf (?), (or is it Dracula). Anyways, the movie is a who's who of poular and talented actors/actresses of the age. Lawn Chaney, Bella Lagosi, I' can't even think of them all, and then Bud and Lou

Bill - You're right about those old black and whites from the good ol' olden days - they were great! I especially liked the film you mentioned with Abbott and Costello, I believe it was Abbott and Costello meet the Werewolf. Lon Chaney, Bella Lugosi and all of those guys were great but what about ol Vincent Price? He was one of my very favorites!! Saw everything he was in.

Lloyd - Jack Nicholson is the bomb and was very good or bad in Wolf. By bad I mean bad werewolf...

Vincent Price seemed more like the guy in the neighborhood not to let watch your kids. But he did play a huge range of characters. And he had a million dollar voice. Plus he could do comedy as well as horror.

It's not fair, Dracula and Frankenstein got most of the horror movie love! Most of the good ones have been mentioned, Bill, I'm with you, I'm more of a fan of the old black & white movies, anyone remember Abbott & Costello Meet the Wolfman?

You did have the Wolfman in Van Helsing, but I kept laughing through the movie, Kate Beckinsale sounded like the Count from Sesame Street!

There's one set in Britain during the football match where England beat Germany. can't remember its name but it's the best werewolf movie I've ever seen.

One basic necessity is the shots of the werewolf can't be cheezey in the movie. If the special effects are bad, the movie is bad.

LOL Does Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban count? One of the primary characters is a werewolf!

I loved American Werewolf In London too!

Thanks to all for your comments!! I concur with all who said that they preferred the old black and whites.

Joe - never have seen that movie - will check it out!

Heather - never saw "Blood" unless I just don't recognize the title...

Bill - you're right! If the special effects are cheesy than the movie is too or it becomes a farce...

Sheila - think of that name of the movie so I can see how good it really is!

Missy - sure any movie with werewolves in it counts!
