Hello fellow neighbors, friends and Gatherites one and all, no exceptions please. Its vacation time again for most of us and for some of us it will be a vacation at home. But, for those of you who will be going on vacation would you please take a few minutes and tell us what your plans are for this year. And those who are not going on vacation this year please tell us where you wish you were going on vacation and why. Thanks so much! Have fun and please just one answer per post ok?
We went for a few days to Key West a few weeks ago. Since my husband started his new job June 25, we probably won't be going anywhere else this summer. I'd like to go to the Grand Canyon in the fall. Hopefully my health will get better by then!
I have my two months off for summer. Most of it will be spent home - NYC. For about two weeks I'll be visiting relatives in the sunny (and scorching) state of California - San Diego, then Los Angeles, then San Francisco.
This year we will be going to Houston ( but we go every month) to see our daughter & grandson nad son-in-law.. We will also be going to Reno for 5 days and then this fall we are going to try to go to Chicago.
Heather - how lucky to have gone to the Florida Keys! I remember your article well when you wrote about just wanting to be at home...Congratulations to your husband on his new job. I do hope and pray that your health gets better and that it enables you to do all that you desire to do. You deserve it my friend! By the way, the Grand Canyon (if you've never been) is a wonder to behold! How God made all of these beautiful places on Earth to see is unbelievable!
Leslie - how nice that you are going to California on your vacation. Staying at home in New York City is a vacation in itself! If you think that California is scorching you might want to try Dallas, Texas or Texas sometime. Of course I've heard that California has been having somewhat of a big heatwave this year. Have a blast and don't forget the sunscreen!
Linda - coming to my part of the country...Houston is nice but Dallas is nicer...lol! Of course if you've got family there its always nicer wherever they are. Have a wonderful time on your trip/vacation! Take care!
Joe - lucky you! I lived in Tampa and never made it to DisneyWorld! I hope to make it someday before I die...Have a blast and let us know all about it when you get back. Please say Hi to Mickey and Minnie from me...
not sure what our plans are. I am mostly housebound and our income was cut in 1/2 when my short term disability ended last sept. I'm hoping we can do something when and if my social security comes thru!
