There have been a lot of songs that have defined certain times in my life but my all time favorite category would have to go to the one that changed my life so dramatically. I heard this song one day, at a birthday party for a friend, and even in my inebriated state it hit me. I guess you could say I had a spiritual awakening right then and there. That was the beginning of a long road back from the abyss for me.
It was a country song called, "My Next Thirty Years" and I can't tell you the name of the guy who sang it or when it was released. I can tell you that six years ago when I heard, it began a process that has since changed my life for the better. What a difference a song can make!
Manny!! That same song SHOOK me up and WOKE me up and gave me the kick I needed to make some MAJOR life changes, too! I believe it is Tim McGraw maybe?
I love most of yalls songs but most of all must agree with Mike's favorite by U-2 called "I will follow" know it well, very well indeed from my party days in Austin, Texas back in '81 I believe. Love the way it starts tannanannananna...you know what I mean Mike...lol!!

Manny and Carolyn - I've really got to hear that song by Tim McGraw that yall are talking about. I've never heard it but can't seem to get if off my mind especially since you both say it changed your lives.
Music is so much of me -- the sound of the day. Today is it "Breathless" by Corinne Bailey Rae, because it's so seductive. Tomorrow, it might be something else. I'm so naughty. (LOL). Esther is bring out the ... in me.
Hotel California by The Eagles 1976 is my all time favorite song. I was young , just entered jr high and my neighbor's older sister introduced the album and the song to me. She had all these rock and hippy posters, which lit up under the black light she had in her room. Every time I hear it takes me back to that moment. A time of freedom and no worries.

I always liked Creep by Radiohead from the 90's.

I love to listen to Lady Madonna by the Beatles, as it is life!
It's hard to pick a top favorite song... but I would go with Rockapella's song Everything to me
