I am from lace and lavender
I am delicate but complicated
Yet intoxicating and indescribable
I contain both inexpressible anguish and unspeakable happiness
I am from the ocean and the mountains
with an intense power and cool winds
I am from a large puzzle
a small part of a masterpiece
From the green grass of Ireland, the cold shores of England,
Cherokee freedom with a touch of the warm seas of Italy
Have you yet been where I am from?

I'm always glad to see more of these.... this was my absolute most favourite challenge on Gather.
I would love to go where you are from.
You write very well darlin'. I really enjoyed the way in which you started this poem:
"I am from lace and lavender
I am delicate but complicated"
I enjoy the way you use contradictions/opposites over and over again to illustrate the two sides of you as a person. Lace can both be delicate and complicated and I find that lavender can be that too; powerful in scent and subtle/delicate in color.
Nice word play here that makes for a very lucid color arrangement for the picture that is you.
Could you do me a favor and edit the title to read:
"Where I Am From - Joy"
Also if you would like to, I would love for you to post 4 more pics that best describe who you are as a person/woman. Please post those 4 pics to the group and NOT inside this poem.
Thanks for contributing and it's so nice to finally read a bit of you.
