Just before dawn on this Thursday, strange lights invaded my bedroom. My husband had left for work and the sun was just peeking in my window. Yet, this was not sunlight. The beam held no warmth. Suddenly, I realized the icey cold feeling of terror that seems to run through my veins. I was terrified. I lay in my bed trying without success to rationalize this phenomenom. Then I heard a noise. Someone was coming in my house. my home, and now my room. What was I going to do? The house alarm wasn't going off, so I knew deep in my heart that this creature that sent lights and fear into my once safe bedroom stood just on the otherside of my bedroom door. It was then through the darkness that I could make out a figure standing, staring, stalking. He reached for the doorknob. I ran out of bed to hold the knob from my side of the door. I tried in vain to keep it or whatever it appeared to be outside my room. Then with a mighty blow, the door flew open. I stared into the face of an enraged creature.
The creature finally spoke,
What the hell are you doing? I forgot my briefcase. I tried not to wake you, but when I couldn't get the door open . . . What were you thinking?
Not much, I replied to my enraged husband.
