So much more to fear than Global Warming alone . . .

When it happens, it happens. There is nothing we can do to stop it. So live your like the best you can, be nice to others.

Wow, this is sad fatalism. We can do more than this, and we can do it together. We do not have to let the planet become a post-apocalyptic desert. Working together to demand smarter policies of our government, our businesses and our selves, is working for the good of our grandchildren and great grandchildren. We can't let the planet be killed by those who are greedy.

The only way to counter-balance fear is to move away from the Guilt/Blame game.

I do what I can and try to let the rest take care of itself.

I can't control the asteroids, terrorists, etc, but I recycle, smile at strangers, hug my loved ones and move on every day.

I follow God, and take care of my family. I figure that is the best thing I can do for all of us. If I do my best to do that, then The rest is up to Him.

I'm listening to the concert online, and enjoying it...I think everyone can take baby steps to change small things in their own homes.

I am not saying to fear. God will take care of us if we take care of ourselves. My article point is there have always been doomsday artists. I enjoy living and pick up my trash. Why is the media not covering the arrest of Al Gore III? His arrest is another abomination. While daddy is out saving the world, Al Gore III is killing people one at a time.

I admire the way Al Gore is handling the situation with his son.

This was very funny Ms. Carol. Again, you could be my mother. She does all those things and even hangs her laundry outside to dry instead of using her dryer. She makes sure I follow her lead for recycling and things. I asked her about the global warming and green thinking, and she said that since she grew up in the early 70's, they were very ecology minded and this new mindset is just another generations' take on what they did back then.

I find it intriguing to hread "we have to demand..." Demanding isn't part of the process, demanding is an immature child like apporach to a situation. It is a tantrum to "get your way" regardless if you are right or wrong. To demand means yo ahve decided that your position is the only position becasue you "know" what is right. To demand means you aren't willing to discuss, debate, impartially analyze data....It is the tool of the political left, hence the reason they would hand over legislative decisions to the juducial branch. This allows them to "demand" and then get the right judge to capitulate.
Al Gore is a kook, let's all be clean and efficient, that can be done without some nut job finding new ways to destroy our freedom, destroy our capitalist system and increasing our taxes for the "crime " of exisiting...

Read "Natural Capitalism" by Hawken, Lovins and Lovins, and "Cradle to Cradle," by McDonough and Braungart.

There's every reason to be optimistic because we have the conceptual framework to address many of these problems simultaneously - since they are all symptoms of the same problem (except asteroids). Terrorism, global warming, economy/jobs, immigration. It's all about energy and product design. Many corporations are realizing this. Read those two books if you want to be inspired.

Global Warmiong; scam, major money maker. The world runs in cycles, and sorry it don't matter what you do, you're not changing that.

Pollution; real, many have found ways to promote different ways to make money off from this as also. So yes it needs to be continued to be dealt with, but send the scamers to jail.

Asteroids; real, But then even NASA has said the chance of one actually hitting is something like one in 100 million.

The truth is that on serious issues that you need to be alerted to, yes you should keep up with the alerts, but don't live your life by the fear. Just be well informed just in case you are in a situation that you actually have to deal with it (and in most cases you'll never have too).

Talking about the IPCC? The National Academies of Science from each of the G8 countries? U.S. National Research Council? American Meteorological Society? American Geophysical Union? American Institute of Physics? American Astronomical Society? American Association for the Advancement of Science? Stratigraphy Commission of the Geological Society of London? The Royal Society? Geological Society of America? American Chemical Society?

The only professional scientific group that would agree with you is the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

Keith is right!!! Al Gore lost...no question...!!! He couldn't handle it~so he built a miniture white house in Nashville; which uses an immense amount of electricity. Then he flies around giving "Global Warming Speeches"~burning up an immensel amount of fuel. It is us he wants cutting back on fuel & electricity~not himself. I think we should be kind to the environment~he has gone way over the top~making it to be a Cult-Like Religion. Has anyone read up on Agenda 21?!
