When our friend Danielle mention to me and my husband that she couldn't find anyone to go to Ribfest with her to see Heart, my husband said right away, "We'll go with you!" I really didn't have much time to think about it, but it sounded good to me. So, off we went on July 3, 2007, to the 20th Ribfest in Naperville, Illinois at Knoch Park to see Heart. The concert started a little late at 8:20 p.m. when Ann and Nancy Wilson came out and performed songs from an upcoming album. I think everyone was a little confused when they didn't come out singing "Barracuda," I know I was surprised and was wondering how this concert was going to go! I must say that they just kept getting better and better after each song. As I said when they performed "Dog and Butterfly," "Now I can die happy!" It was great to hear everyone singing along to "Magic Man," "Crazy On You," "These Dreams," "Straight On" and of course, OOOOOOOOOOH, "Barracuda!" A disappointment was not hearing "Dreamboat Annie," which was pointed out by my husband. Another thing that must be mentioned is the encores of two Led Zeppelin songs, "Black Dog" and "Misty Mountain Hop," not to mention the singing of The Who's, "Love Reign O'er Me" during the concert. They closed the park, with a 35,000 capacity, for only the fourth time in Ribfest history. All I have to say is I hope I can move like Nancy Wilson when I'm her age! You go girls!
