I hate to keep anyone waiting on the new challenge, and since Jessie is out of town and not able to tell me the winner for the month of June, I will go ahead and post a challenge for the month of July. Now, the month of June winner, will become the Guest Judge for the month of August.
So for this month, the challenge is "Poetry Without Words". Let me explain this one a bit. I've been writing poetry since my early teens and when I discovered photography, I realized how it could move my emotions in the same manner that poetry did. It was like a poem, but without the words, yet still able to convey the same feelings. So, your challenge for this month is to submit photos that are inspiring, witty, emotionally attached to the photo, enough so that the person viewing it could be able to take away a story simply from the photo itself. In this, I ask not to just post your everyday snapshots, but really dig and find a picture that represents the essence of poetry.
For example: Look at the works by Ansel Adams, how he uses his visionary photos to express.
Now, just because I used Ansel as an example, does not mean I am searching only for nature pics. Instead I am wanting to achieve this with all aspects of your living. With your gardens, your vacations, your family.... just try to capture it in a way that others will feel it.
Same rules apply from our previous challenges.
1. Must be original photos taken by you.
2. Must contain the tagline "Photography Challenge" OR "Poetry Without Words".
THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT THIS MONTH. Usually if the challenge is water, and you forget the tag "water", and I can see that your pic contained water, I'd still accept it. BUT, this month, I will HAVE TO HAVE THE TAG.
3. You can submit as many photos as you want, but each must be in a post of its own. Please try not to post as article as it makes it difficult for everyone to see.
4. The deadline for posting photos will be the LAST DAY OF THE MONTH. Please do not edit the photos too close to the deadline as this might result in it being too late for the challenge, as it will show the date of edit, rather then the date submitted.
5. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
If you are new to our challenges or have no idea what I am talking about, then come visit us at www.photochallenge.gather.com
Thanks and have fun!!

I've never submitted a challenge photo, but would really love to!
Would someone please post the link where to submit a photograph?
I look forward to participating in this and other challenges.
Thanks so much!

Glad you found us! Just go to www.photochallenge.gather.com and join our group. And then when you submit a picture, be sure to check that you want it to appear in our group. Remember to have the tag lines for the current challenge, otherwise your photo cannot be accepted. For example, this month you would put "Photography Challenge" and/or "Poetry Without Words". Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Welcome aboard!
I'm new to this group (actually new to gather.com) but enjoying it. I think I've correctly entered a photo for the July contest "Poetry Without Words". Hopefully I understand what I'm doing! :>)
If not please let me know. Thanks.
