THE 4TH OF JULY! ! !

We just had to get out.. I'd had a hell of a night, fought fights long lost, didn't sleep even with pills, and had spent a lackluster day around here not getting much done.
PIER PARK! THAT'S THE TICKET!
I plan to go to every concert they have from now on! It's a wonderful venue, nice little bandstand, good sound, bring your own seating.. Free!
Getting there just about Dark, dealing witht he "Beach Police" (always fun to do), and getting the pickup in to a spot Mom could watch the fireworks from I jumped ship to shoot some photos.

The entry gate has a nice selection of benches and flagpoles.
Being the 4th of July there was a GOOD crowd.
And everyone seemed to be having FUN! It was nice to get out in the world again! Life for me had been dismal for quite awhile, one way or another.
The band played SEVERAL of my old favorites.. (sorry twits, no RAP), inclduing Allman Brothers songs I had heard done in their Mothers garage, years and years ago..

One Favorite:
Whipping Post
I been run down, I been lied to,
I dont know why I let that mean woman make me a fool.
She took all my money, wrecked my new car.
Now shes with one of my goodtime buddies,
Theyre drinkin in some crosstown bar.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Good lord, I feel like Im dyin.
My friends tell me, that Ive been such a fool,
And I have to stand by and take it baby, all for lovin you.
Drown myself in sorrow, and I look at what youve down.
But nothin seems to change, the bad times stay the same,
And I cant run.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Good lord, I feel like Im dyin.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Good lord, I feel like Im dyin.
The Mike Willams Blues Band was on deck when I got there, just before the fireworks..
Good to have a pickup again, I walked the thing over some scrub and ruts and got Mom a front row seat for the fireworks.
The band did a GREAT job, did some old Muddy Waters stuff, did that Allmans, did some Asleep At The Wheel rockers, just lots of fun! Been a long LONG time since I leaned on a set of banging amps to take a picture.
The Chamber of Commerce had a nice tent set up for refreshments too!

All good things come to an end, some sooner than others, and the band packed up, the fire nt he sky started and I wiggled the truck back out ahead of the crowd to get Mom home before midnight.
We stopped at the TARGET store and watched the finale', but my card on the camera was full of sentimental "temporary 'family' " pictures that I didn't want to delete so I only got a couple shots.

Eventually after stoppng in both Panama City (mailand) and Lynn Haven for a few minutes to watch the big finish of their shows we got home about 10pm.
The neighbors were shooting up the sky so I pulled the .357 out of it's bookcase hidey hole and cracked off a couple shots thirty feet below the house into a stack of my garbage cans.
Little bastid is LOUD, but I needed to see if I could still hit a man sized object with it in the dark.
I did.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL!
