Maybe this happens to you. Maybe you do it. Maybe I am the only person on Gather who's panties get into a wad over things like this.
Every time I sign on to Gather, I have a dozen or so Gather mails. 99% of these are from my connections telling me about the article or picture they have just published. Except, my Gather home page already does this for me. I much prefer reading your articles and looking at your pictures to reading e-mails about your articles and pictures.
I've asked Gather to consider giving us the capability of making mailing lists, so that we could opt out of the mass Gather mail that says, "Come see my article." Until they do, I'm hoping some of you will stop sending me these mass e-mails without de-friending me.

Are you being cleverly post modernly self referential? Because if you aren't I'd make the same request of you - please don't send me mass emails.
You submitted this to Two Word Challenge. Please read the group rules.

People who post their articles to ALL their groups are very annoying.
Hence, I agree with what you are saying, Ann, but as someone suggested above--just delete it.
I do agree with you. It's tiring receiving all those promos.
I think the best thing to do is to turn off your "notify me if my friends, etc do such and such" notifications, and instead subscribe to the people you would really like to be notified about. (Here the default is also no notification, so you need to go to settings and check each name separately after you've "subscribed" to them.) This works well in terms of avoiding getting a hundred emails in one day. And if there's someone who's mass mailing you every day, the first thing to do would be to disconnect from them. If they still keep you on their mailing list, then you could consider blocking them--I haven't yet done this with anyone. :-)
As per Katherine E-O: I just shake my head when I
see what articles are posted to where sometimes.
So that there is no confusion, I am not talking about the e-mails that Gather generates, but rather the GatherMail feature that we have here.
Alas, Someone else got their panties in a wad, too, and de-friended me.

Happy 4th
This post is more of a rant. Fit for carerants (new group). Outofourshellskindred nuts is for funny stuff. But I understand . . . it's hard (out here for a nut ;])
