Happy Independence Day everyone. I am glad to say that I am still able to celebrate Independence Day. Today I will celebrate and enjoy my freedoms which are included in this short list, but is not limited to.......
I am thankful that I can
- Worship the God that I choose to in the way that I choose to.
- Read whatever book, newspaper, article, magazine, etc.... that I want to and form my own opinion of what the writer has to say.
- Say that I like or dislike what the President of the United States is doing to our country without being thrown in jail or tortured for it.
- Say that I believe a god that wants it's followers to kill other people is not the god I want to follow or worship and not be killed for saying so.
- Wear whatever I want to wear.
- Have school in my home where I can teach my children what I think is important and leave out the things like sex, drugs, and hate that I don't think any child should be learning about in elementary school.
- Marry the man of my dreams and not someone I didn't love.
- Live anywhere in the United States that I want.
These are just a few of the things, like I said, that I am thankful I have the freedom to do. That is really what Independence Day is all about. People have paid the price for us to have the freedoms I mentioned. The pilgrims, the soldiers, mothers, fathers, children, etc...... Thank God for them and the freedoms that were left for me to enjoy, please don't let me take them in vain! We may not have these freedoms for much longer, I hope that we would fight for them.
Happy Independence Day!!!
