Red, White and Blue Birthday
For Independence Day
After Christmas,
The 4th of July
is my favorite holiday
where memories abound
Why do I like it?
What's the appeal?
It's fun and festive
the red, white and blue
decorations dress up the joint
families gather together
we eat special foods
patriotic tunes stir my soul
and fireworks dazzle my eyes
parades with floats
picnic concerts in the park
little kids with sparklers
flags flying free
lemonade and cherry pie
the whole nation gathers
to blow out the candles
on the birthday cake
