A mammoth was just unearthed in my county near my home. According to an article in the prestigious Dally Oklahoman today, the mammoth is going to a museum in my town. Of course my town name to fame has been two tonados and the strongest earthquake ever recorded in Oklahoma until now. This should put ;us on the map. This town's mainstreet is Route 66.
We've made movies like Rainman here, but nothing will top our mammoth.
According to these sources cited in the Oklahoman: mammoth.com; www.snomnh.ou.edu; and www.ucmp.berkeley.edu this information can be found on mammoths.
Height: Up to 13 feet high at the shoulders
Weight: 8 to 10 tons
Diet: Up to 700 obs. of veggies daily. (I'll bet that caveman on television ads is glad my mommoth was a vegetarian.
Extinction:Â This furry fellow went extinct about 11,000 years ago, if you believe the scientists who refuse to believe god created the earth about 6000 years ago, but that's another article.

A friend of ours found some mammoth remains in a bluff on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, near our neighborhood. It was a few years ago. I'm on the lookout......!
