OH NO! Another New Gather Group!

Yep.  I've started a new gather group.  Just what you all needed, right? ;)

My goal for this group is to provide an interactive community where our readers, visitors, writers, and artists can interact.  Too often, writers and artist create in a vacuum.  It isn't until they actually post something on a writer website or submit it to an editor that they get any indication that what they have done "works."  And often, the feedback from the writer websites will boil down to patting each other on the back to avoid hurting feelings.  And the only feedback from the potential editor turns out to be a form rejection letter.  Here, we hope, writers and artists will have a chance to bounce ideas off of actual readers and get some feedback.

For readers and regular visitors to our site, this hopefully will become an opportunity to follow publishing projects from start to finish.  You'll have a chance to hear about upcoming projects when they are still unnamed ideas, and follow the development to final publication.  For those interested in working in the industry, you can consider this a behind the scenes look at what goes on.  And for those interested in maybe self-publishing, it may be an eye-opening revelation of what exactly goes into book publishing.

Of course, I'll take it upon myself to keep it fun.  So I'll be planning some contests and giveaways in the future to keep everyone involved.  So if you have ideas of feasible contests (no, I'm not giving away a car...though I've been wishing someone would take my Ford for a while now!), please let me know.

So I hope folks will join and participate.  Our upcoming publishing year is going to be very exciting, and we'd love to have more people take part in it.
